Literature Text
If you take a twisted plate of glass,
And hold it up to the world,
You see the smog and the burning light
Twist and then
It’s beautiful
In some strange way
The furnaces become golden stars
And the clouds of ash are like the exhalations of a giant
Blink
Dead leaves look like lace through tears
And the only way to get rainbows in puddles
Is if they’re full of oil
And the lakes are rainbow hued
With fish scales and chemicals
There is something empowering
About the sting of acid rain
Sunsets look more colourful
Through air-borne dust
If you sit on the ash-dusted grass
In a park without flowers,
And listen to the noise around you
Make its own silence
And find the second darkness
Woven in the cage of beams
Then the
Thousand
Shades
Of
Grey
Settle around you like mottled robes,
Like watered silk
Wear the Foundry Crown,
The wrought iron wreath
And the yellow diamond
Ember jewels with pride
Because you have given the world

The Walls of Deception
You once pleaded with me to follow you through one of the Doors of Perception, but I didn't want to take that trip. No, I had my happy and successful future all mapped out, and it was supposed to put me on a different plane than the one you were flying high on.
Yet you were the one who landed laughing. My trip ended in a crash. You are still seemingly young and wild and free. The world can remain your oyster, with you as its pearl.
I am trapped here, where I have found myself encircled by walls which themselves are surrounded by trenches and barbed wire. This is a prison of my own making, a hellish price I pay for my deceit, my errors, my n

Dream Invasion
In the dead of night the culprit stole;
Into your dream to take you whole,
Lacing thoughts with such blight;
Stealing your heart for its own delight.
Within your head it creeps and lurks;
Placed by terror and dark’s deep quirks,
Cold and sharp behind your eyes;
Pouring up in incriminating cries.
The blank of white streams in tears;
Forcing out your primal fears,
Twisted into targeted hate;
It strips you of your chosen fate.
Now you are but to paint the lines;
A story to tell of her crimes,
Prose written in desperate plea;
Unable to hide, unable to flee.
Forever stuck in the cold tide;
A surge which you are forced to ride,
It was but

A World Within
Great All Above, my holy father, my holy mother, please, I beg, listen and hear well these words I speak, for I am in need of your especially attentive ear.
I am in need of your guiding light, for I have lost my way.
I am in need of your warmth, for my soul needs soothing
I am in need of your great embrace, and hope that you will wipe away my rush of tears, for I grieve profoundly
Please, I beg, fill me with unending joy so that I may make it through the years
Grant me the tools to render my inner demons’ lives forfeit
And know that I will always love you…
Stormy summer days are always the best; they evoke within me immense

This has nothing to do with 50 Shades, so sorry if you were looking for bondage. For Wielders-of-the-Pen's prompt, Pollution. I hate the litter and the pollution, but sometimes if you look at it out of the corner of a narrowed eye and take some drugs, it can occasionally look quite pretty. Kind of.
